where has all the time gone? seemed like the quarter had just started and now we're in our 7th week. seven. which is an odd number. and every odd week equals a kasa gm. how fantastic for us all. don't you miss our perfect faces?

kasa fourth general meeting

where: kinsey pavilion (aka knudson yada yada) 1200b
when: wednesday, february 22nd at seven pm.

we'll be selling tickets for our chongdae sadies (only $25). it's THIS saturday the 25th. if you just CAN NOT make it to this wednesday's meeting to purchase your tickets then contact jesse [310.429.9137] or christine paik [310-634-3051].

we've got a couple of surveys regarding "red fever" and being korean american, a special presentation on col. young oak kim who recently passed as the highest asian american ranked officer in the us army, as well as more information regarding the chongdae sports tournament against schools such as uci, usc, ucr, etc etc etc. AND don't forget to register for KASCON. you JUST missed the $100 registration deadline but fare not, it's still only $120 until the day before. if you register at KASCON, it will be $160.

plus cathy's got her world famous jeopardy game prepared AND we'll be going out to ktown afterwards to bury our sorrows in jja jang myun (if you're single) or just... eat (for all the cursed couples) in celebration of black day.... even though it's not black day.

and that's it. see you all this wednesday!! DON'T BE LATE! >;[

something's wrong with my screenname. aim won't let it sign off. gae sekkies.  so... i can either make a new sn or i guess turn one of my many undercover-super-secret ones into a not-so-secret one. what to do what to do.

sigh. the funeral of my sn. we've been through so much old pal. i think i've had that screen name for well over 6 years. and what the freak is wrong with the font. ok nevermind. fixed it.

Dating Strengths Dating Weaknesses
1. Spirituality - 92.3%
2. Friendliness - 75%
3. Sense of Humor - 71.4%
4. Independence - 71.4%
5. Appearance - 62.5%
1. Vanity - 58.3%
2. Financial Issues - 54.5%

Dating Strengths Explained
Spirituality - Your spiritual side brings you peace and balance, and keeps you grounded. This is attractive, as you can help reinforce this quality in other people.
Friendliness - Your friendliness makes you approachable and fun to be around. A wide circle of friends also works to your advantage on the dating scene.
Sense of Humor - Guys are attracted to people with a good sense of humor. Be sure to put yours on display!
Independence - Your strong sense of independence comes in handy while dating. You are not held back or tied down; you are free to pursue your interests.
Appearance - Despite what some will say, appearance matters in dating. You get high marks on appearance. Just make sure you balance it out with other qualities.
Dating Weaknesses Explained
Vanity - Learn to put a lower priority on looks. Appearance is, of course, important, but vanity is undesireable. The only people you will attract are the superficial.
Financial Issues - Your financial situation is not in good shape, and this does not bode well for you on the dating scene. Try to get on top of your financial difficulties.

hello fellow victims of this political prison camp we call college.

we are now finally in our ninth week. the first quarter of the school year is almost over. aren't we all so very excited? thanksgiving has come and gone (i'll be eating mom's various turkey soups, turkey sandwiches & turkey salads with all the leftovers for weeks) and christmas is just around the corner. not to mention freshmen dance off is finally over. cheers to all our freshmen dancers who seriously worked their bodies to death under their nazi dance leader, miri. (jk miri 143 012) i know you guys really wanted first place but whatever. cherish all of the memories and good times you guys shared together these past few weeks and keep in mind how very proud ucla kasa is of you guys. bbo bbo~

so you all know why i'm sending out an e-mail...

fifth (& last) kasa general meeting

franz 1260
seven pm
wednesday (11/30)

come join us for the last meeting of the quarter (not to mention for 2005 as well). many of you freshmen dancers used practice as an excuse but NOW YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE!! WAHARHARHAR!!!!!!! >;D
seriously though, staff has been missing many of your loverly loverly faces. we would like to see all of you together one last time before we hit insane mode the following 2 weeks because of finals. after the meeting we will be heading out to westwood for a thrilling scavenger hunt (not to mention eating afterwards). so seriously, stop being such nerds and come out. i seriously have never seen a class so in love with their textbooks. it's okay if you don't go to powell one night.

also, make sure you pay your $150 for the mammoth ski trip by this meeting because the price will raise to $170 after that. this is one kasa event you mos def do NOT want to miss! i'm telling you. when we all come back from ski trip and you're the only one who didn't go, you'll feel so left out as we start cracking inside jokes and reminiscing about so and so going boarding with a moustache and unibrow sharpied on their face. g o o d   t i m e s  at ski trip. good times.

UCLA LiNK kickoff event

it has finally come. the ucla LiNK chapter is finally established. for all of those interested or ignorant in/of the human rights crisis in north korea make sure to come out this tuesday the 29th.

haines a18
7:30pm
tuesday (11/29)

with a special screening of "seoul train." a documentary of north korean refugees attempting to gain freedom. let's stop ignoring the hungry cries of our abused brothers and sisters in north korea. show some support. educate yourselves. come out.

and then.. not to directly contrast with the mood and all but this friday we will be having a
joint broomballing event with our sister org, hanoolim.

friday (12/2)
9:30 pm
meet at ackerman turnaround

now here's where being a member comes in handy because...
members $seven
non-members $ten

we'll be heading out to the ICE-O-PLEX in panorama city. come out and make some memories, a couple cuts & bruises here and there, friends, and enjoy some good ol' cup ramen.

and that is all the announcements for now. bundle up because there's a lot of different colds & flus going around. beware of me because i've got a wicked mok gamgi and i'm spreading it around like fire. woo hoo.

p.s. are my e-mails getting less interesting? or too long?

p.s.s. attached is my 2005 christmas wishlist. purchase accordingly.

p.s.s.s. jk. 143. i miss everybody. especially you.

to sum up the past few weeks...

no time for much these days but i must say that i love my mamachon, sisters, my roomie/twin, 206, club palms girlies, kasa staff, shelter provider RGL jesse oppa, RGL jaj hyung, the wanbyuk twin, ¸Â¾Æµé, big dawg jr, '05 freshie dancers, my young-gae fobs, and of course my ridiculously good looking kasa family. where would i be without you guys? probably slitting my wrists somewhere in the gutters of ktown. i'm going to sound pretty damn gay but whatever i already sound homosexual... you guys are my source of sunlight. well okay. i don't wanna blaspheme. first and foremost is God. and food too of course. but you guys come after.

i dunno. i'm in a really gay mood today. hence the really gay update.

seventh week homies. seventh. we are finally coming to the end of midterms season. woo hoo. and then you get a week or so off before we all head into finals. depressing. so very depressing. but you know what the antonym of depressing is????? eh? eh?? exACTLy. it's....

kasa's 4ourth general meeting
franz 1260
wednesday the sixteenth
seven pm

you know the deal.

what better way to wash away those tears than with our exciting announcements, joyous games, and ridiculously good looking staff. speaking of... let's all warmly welcome the new additions to staff! the kiddies of freshman staff of 05-06:

  • daniel kim aka dk
  • seung chul aka sean
  • christine choi aka brazil/little dawg
  • seo aka .... seo -_-
  • lisa hong
  • christine paik
  • woojin
  • jenny
  • and our freshman staff president, shannon lee =)

yay. *clap clap* now on to more important news. hah. jk<3 staff love.

we are slowly entering BOARDiNG SEASON!!!!!!! which means it's time for the annual
kasa mammoth ski trip!!!
talk to ANYONE that has gone the previous years. it is the most memorable event that kasa has to offer socially. so many inside jokes and blossoming friendships made every year.
ski trip this year will be from sunday (12/18) through wednesday (12/21)
and the cost will be $150 up until ninth week (in which it will be raised to $170).
this cost provides for you shelter from the bitter cold, food+drinks, and once again.. ridiculously good looking people. you know you want to go so bring your money to the meeting this wednesday and round up all your friends as well!

and i'm sure everyone knows just how hard our freshmen have been working these past couple weeks for the dance-off. they (along with our fantastic choreographers and miri shin) have been sweating profusely 3-5 days out of every week preparing for this and it's time for the showdown against...
csulb . cal poly pomona . ucr . uci
freshmen dance-off 2005
will be at the infamous key club of sunset strip.
wednesday (11/23) the day before thanksgiving (mmm..... meat )
the competition will start promptly at 10:50pm so that would be a good night to not abide by korean time.
tickets are only $twenty. get them asap from your favorite (or nearest) staffer because they do sell out quick!

and lastly staff would like to invite everyone to the
APC Food Fair & "Fall into APC" event!!
APC stands for asian pacific coalition and acts as a sort of umbrella organization to all the asian & pacific islander student groups on campus.
they are setting up a food fair this tuesday (tomorrow, the 15th)
in bruin plaza (that's where the bear is)
from 11am until 2pm!
kasa will be selling shik-hye for a low low price of one dollar.

you know. that rice drink that mom always made for you... or if she was like my mom and too lazy, bought the box of shik-hye cans for 7.99 at gaju market. come support your brothers and sisters of kasa as well as all the other APC affiliated organizations!

and then afterwards head to moore 100 for "Fall into APC"
seven thirty pm.
there will be performances and introductions to what apc is all about. make sure to stop by!!

as always, if you have any questions feel free to contact us. ucla.kasa@gmail.com
